Privacy Policy

1. Scope and operator

This Privacy Policy applies to the Offload website, waitlist and beta application process, beta programs, and Android application (together, the “Service”). Offload is an independent software product operated from India (“Offload”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

The production database is hosted in India. Other providers may process information in other countries as explained below. For privacy questions or requests, email offload.mymemory@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

Account information

When you use Google Sign-In, Offload receives your name, email address, profile image, and Google account identifier. We use this information to authenticate you, create and display your account, communicate with you, and protect the Service. Google handles the sign-in process under its own Privacy Policy.

Content you choose to save

We process memories, notes, prompts, tasks, reminders, links, photos, screenshots, short videos, PDFs, documents, feedback, and other content you submit. For links, we may store the URL and extract metadata or content needed for indexing, search, and retrieval. Your content may contain personal information about you or others.

Voice input

When you use voice input, Offload invokes the speech-recognition service available on your device. Depending on your device and recognition provider, audio may be processed locally or transmitted to that provider for transcription. Offload receives the resulting transcript and does not intentionally store the original audio on its own servers. The recognition provider may process audio according to its own privacy terms.

Recording begins only after you activate voice input. Offload does not perform continuous or background listening. You can disable microphone permission in Android settings. A transcript you submit is processed like other text content.

Onboarding personalization

If you choose to answer onboarding questions, we store selections about problems you experience when saving or finding information, categories of content you want to save or retrieve, and personalization preferences derived from those selections. We use them to personalize starter suggestions, headlines, examples, and your initial experience. We do not use these answers to infer sensitive traits.

Waitlist, beta applications, and communications

If you join the waitlist or apply for a beta program, we collect your name, email address, WhatsApp phone number, occupation, information about what and where you save, your stated frustrations and usage frequency, feedback commitment, consent record, application status, and any free-text answers you provide. After you explicitly agree, we use your phone number to send your beta invitation and essential beta updates through WhatsApp because emails can land in spam. We do not use it for promotional messages or calls, and you can opt out at any time.

Device and network information

Offload and its providers may process IP addresses and ordinary network metadata received during requests, device or installation identifiers, browser and device type, operating system, timestamps, request and security logs, app version, and technical performance information. If you enable notifications, we process a push-notification token.

We do not collect GPS-based or other precise location through the Service. An IP address can indicate a city, country, or approximate region, and ordinary network, security, or infrastructure providers may process it for security, localization, analytics, and service delivery.

3. Analytics and diagnostics

Website analytics

The website uses cookieless analytics to measure page views and selected button or link interactions. We disable automatic interaction capture, session recording, heatmaps, surveys, persistent analytics profiles, and persistent analytics browser storage. Query strings are removed from analytics URLs before events are sent. Hosting and analytics providers may still receive an IP address and ordinary network metadata as part of requests.

We may use essential cookies or similar storage where necessary for authentication and security. Google may use its own cookies when you choose Google Sign-In.

Mobile analytics and diagnostics

The Android app uses manually defined product-analytics events. Mobile session replay and automatic UI interaction capture are disabled. Depending on the event or report, the app and its providers may process:

• your Offload user ID and device or installation identifiers;
• app version, device type, operating system, app lifecycle events, and session timing;
• screens and features used, navigation source, and feature-interaction categories;
• trial and subscription-state events and notification permission or interaction events;
• operation latency, error and status categories, and technical or performance diagnostics;
• crash stack traces and relevant application state;
• time-zone offset, local hour, and weekday; and
• IP address and ordinary network metadata received during requests.

We use this information to understand which features are used, measure onboarding and conversion, diagnose errors and crashes, monitor reliability and latency, protect the Service, and improve performance and usability. Crash reports may be associated with an Offload user ID so we can diagnose failures affecting a specific account.

Offload does not intentionally place memory text, prompts or search questions, AI answers, task text, uploaded-file contents, filenames, URLs, email addresses, names, notification tokens, or payment credentials in product-analytics events. A crash report or relevant application state may still contain technical context needed to diagnose a failure, so we configure diagnostic collection to minimize personal content.

4. Subscriptions and purchase information

When you start a trial or interact with a paid plan, Offload and the relevant app-store and subscription-management providers may process your Offload user ID, store or subscription identifiers, selected product or plan, subscription status, purchase date, renewal date, paid-through date, cancellation status, grace-period or billing-retry status, refund or revocation status, store and environment, and relevant transaction and subscription history.

We use this information to activate and maintain Pro access, reconcile subscription status across devices, support renewals, cancellations, refunds, and billing issues, prevent fraud and subscription-transfer abuse, and keep billing records that are legally or operationally required.

Payment information is entered into and handled through Google Play. Offload does not receive or store your complete payment-card or bank-account details. Purchase and subscription history may remain after account deletion when reasonably needed for billing, refunds, reconciliation, fraud prevention, dispute handling, or legal compliance.

5. How and why we use information

We use personal information to:

• create, personalize, and secure accounts;
• save, structure, index, search, retrieve, and present memories and tasks;
• generate AI-assisted answers and operate reminders and notifications;
• extract useful content and metadata from submitted files and links;
• administer trials, subscriptions, and Pro access;
• evaluate beta applications, manage invitations, and communicate about access;
• operate, troubleshoot, protect, and improve the reliability and usability of the Service; and
• detect abuse, enforce our Terms, comply with law, and protect users and the Service.

Depending on where you live, we process information to perform our agreement with you, with your consent, for legitimate interests such as security and service improvement, and to comply with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent where processing depends on consent, but this does not affect earlier lawful processing and may prevent affected features from working.

We do not sell personal information, use personal content for targeted advertising, or make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about you solely through automated processing.

6. AI and memory processing

Offload uses authorized AI, file-storage, and memory-processing providers to understand requests, organize and retrieve saved content, and generate responses. This requires sending relevant content and instructions in readable form. Some memory-processing providers store content or derived representations until you delete the content or your account. Some AI inputs and outputs may be retained for a limited period for service delivery, safety, abuse prevention, or technical operation.

Offload does not use your memories to train its own AI models and does not authorize service providers to use your content to train general-purpose AI models. Providers process content only to supply contracted services, maintain safety, and prevent abuse, subject to their agreements, applicable policies, and Offload’s configured privacy controls. Where applicable, AI safety or abuse-monitoring data may be retained for up to 30 days.

7. Service providers and sharing

We disclose information only as needed to operate the Service, follow your instructions, protect the Service, complete a business transfer, or comply with valid legal requirements. Provider categories include:

• Authentication providers process account identifiers and sign-in data to authenticate and secure accounts.
• Cloud infrastructure and database providers host the Service and process account, content, network, and operational data.
• File-storage providers store submitted photos, screenshots, videos, PDFs, documents, and related metadata.
• AI and memory-processing providers process, store, organize, index, search, or retrieve content and derived representations for requested features.
• Product-analytics providers process user or installation identifiers and manually defined usage events to measure and improve the product.
• Crash-reporting and diagnostic providers process technical reports, identifiers, and relevant application state to diagnose failures.
• Push-notification and communication providers process notification tokens, contact details, and message-delivery data to send requested or operational communications.
• App-store and subscription-management providers process account, purchase, transaction, and entitlement data to handle billing and Pro access.
• Security and abuse-prevention providers process account, device, network, and activity signals to protect users and the Service.
• Professional advisers, authorities, and transaction parties may receive relevant information where legally necessary to obtain advice, comply with law, protect rights or safety, or complete a reorganization or transfer.

Providers receive information reasonably needed for their role and may use approved subprocessors. They are not authorized to use personal information for unrelated purposes. You may request more information about current recipient categories by emailing us.

International processing

Our production database is hosted in India, but providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they or their subprocessors operate. Those countries may have different privacy laws. International processing is subject to applicable law and provider agreements.

8. Retention and deletion

• Waitlist information: retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
• Unsuccessful beta applications: retained for up to 6 months.
• Active-account content: retained until you delete the content or your account.
• Residual encrypted backups: may remain for up to 30 days after deletion while backup-retention schedules complete.
• Offload-controlled security and diagnostic logs: retained for up to 90 days unless needed longer for security or law.
• Crash reports: may remain with associated technical identifiers for approximately 90 days under the crash-reporting provider’s retention process.
• Purchase and subscription records: retained as reasonably necessary for billing, refunds, reconciliation, fraud prevention, disputes, and legal compliance.

Deleting an individual memory removes that item from active use when deletion completes but does not delete your account or unrelated account data. To delete your complete account in the app or submit an external request, follow our account-deletion instructions. External requests may require identity verification and are normally completed within 30 days after verification.

When account deletion begins, Offload starts removing the account, profile, memories, uploaded content, tasks, reminders, preferences, feedback, notification tokens, and related application data under its control. We also request deletion of account-linked records held by memory-processing and product-analytics providers. Provider deletion is asynchronous and may not complete immediately. Offload does not retain private memories for analytics after deletion.

Residual encrypted backups may remain temporarily, and provider-held technical or purchase records may remain for the periods and purposes described above. We may retain an anonymous event recording that an account deletion occurred for aggregate deletion counts. That event does not contain a user ID, email address, device information, private content, or precise location and is not linked to a user profile.

Account deletion does not cancel an active Google Play subscription. Cancel through Google Play before deleting your Offload account if you want to prevent future renewals.

9. Security and staff access

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including authenticated access, restricted database permissions, encrypted network connections, and encryption at rest where supported. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

Because memories are not end-to-end encrypted, authorized access remains technically possible. Authorized personnel may access content only when reasonably necessary for a support request you initiate, security investigation, abuse prevention, legal compliance, or debugging. Access is limited and logged where practical.

10. Your choices and privacy rights

You can delete individual memories in the app and disable microphone or notification permissions in Android settings. The app does not currently provide self-service data export.

Depending on applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information; withdraw consent; object to or restrict certain processing; request available information about sharing; or nominate another person to exercise rights where local law provides. We may verify your identity before acting on a request.

You may unsubscribe from optional emails using the link included in those messages once email delivery is enabled. We may still send essential account, security, legal, billing, or service messages.

Age requirement

The Service is for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service, providers, or laws change. We will update the date above and, when changes are material, provide notice through the Service or by email where reasonably possible. Material changes apply prospectively unless law permits otherwise.

12. Contact, requests, and complaints

To ask a privacy question, exercise a right, or raise a complaint, email offload.mymemory@gmail.com. Use the subject line “Privacy Request” and describe your request. For account deletion, use our account-deletion instructions. We will acknowledge and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

If we cannot resolve your complaint, you may have the right to contact the privacy or data-protection authority where you live.
